Fall Centerpiece

I need a fall centerpiece for my table.  I didn’t want to spend any money on flowers that would die in a few days and I am not a fan of silk (plastic) flowers.   I look through my hutch and kitchen cupboards.  This is what I came up with:

I started with a medium sized vase. I filled it with small red beans, black beans, white Northern beans and red lentils.  These were in my pantry so… no money spent.

 

I already had the battery controlled tea light.  

A few of the red lentils fell over the edge of the vase into the glass tray and I liked the affect so I sprinkled a few more  on purpose.

It was fun using food as seasonal decor. It is something that I can leave out through November and incorporate into my Thanksgiving decor.

A fun and practical centerpiece with no money spent. Score!!
